Quick Take:

- A lot of Manchester United fans have shown their anger because of the announcement’s timing.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Binance NFTs
Yesterday, November 15, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United and Portugal soccer superstar, announced his NFT collection on Binance, titled ‘The CR7 NFT Collection’. He didn’t share too many details on his Twitter page, but the launch is set to take place this Friday. They are set to be the first-ever NFTs from one of soccer’s greatest-ever players.
Binance announced the collection via Twitter, alongside Cristiano. The Cayman Island-based cryptocurrency company said: “This is your chance to own iconic moments in sports history. Get ready.”
Within the upcoming collection, seven statue NFTs will be available in four varying rarities. Super Super Rare (SSR), Super Rare (SR), Rare (R), and Normal (N). Each rarity level will come with its own set of benefits for holders, from a virtual meeting with the star to an autographed version of the CR7 statue NFTs.
To clarify, each of the NFTs will feature various moments from Ronaldo’s life. In other words, “From the electrifying bicycle kicks to his humble beginnings as a young boy in Portugal” — as Binance announced.
The Announcement and Outrage
Certainly, the announcement came at unfortunate timing for Cristiano Ronaldo. Currently, at Manchester United, he’s not been playing much under manager Erik Ten Haag. Also, recently, the Portuguese attacker did an interview with the controversial British Broadcaster, Piers Morgan. During the interview, he was heard discussing the negative parts of his second spell at Manchester United.
Now, the fans have turned on him somewhat. Also, his Portugal teammates have been pictured ignoring or being angry at him as the nation prepares for the upcoming Qatar World Cup.
