Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) is again combining fashion and art together. In a recent announcement, A Bathing Ape (BAPE), a Japanese streetwear brand, revealed that they are partnering with the BAYC. Further, they are launching their limited quantity physical collection at ApeFest Hong Kong.
BAPE and BAYC’s Exciting Collaboration
The Bathing Ape disclosed the news of their new venture with a tweet and revealed information about the new collection. Furthermore, they added that the Apes will have their first dibs, and the collection will be made available in BAPE stores very soon. The company will launch the collection at the Hong Kong ApeFest which is scheduled from November 3 to 5.
Moving ahead, the event is creating a buzz with the new additions. Besides, BAYC NFT holders will get access to the new clothing collection using a safeguard token-protect gateway. In addition, Bapetaverse NFT collectors could also access the outfits before a wider audience.
BAYC’s Deep Footprints in the Fashion World
BAYC has a trading volume of nearly $3 billion and has already made a significant place in the fashion domain. Not to mention Adidas’ acquisition of BAYC #8774 in September 2021 for $156,000. Subsequently, Adidas featured it in attire branded as ‘Indigo Herz’.
Moreover, in April 2023, Adidas unveiled the ‘Indigo Herz Pack’ NFT collection, presenting exclusive Superstar shoes and hoodies adorned with famous Apes, as a part of its ‘Into the Metaverse’ initiative. Also, the latest collaboration, ‘Three Stripes Studio,’ included several other NFT brands like Punk Comics, G-Money, and DeadFellaz.
BAYC has not only influenced sportswear but also famous artists and luxury fashion brands such as Gucci, which partnered with them in March 2023. With the venture, Gucci launched 3,333 NFTs titled ‘Otherside: Relics by Gucci,’ which allowed BAYC Otherside Metaverse members to buy Gucci necklaces. Besides, these necklaces were $1,917 (450 $APE) each and were combined with Gucci-manufactured KodaPendants.
