The renowned footwear brand Nike has collaborated with the digital fashion brand RTFKT for a new collection. Moreover, the latest collection is named Dunk Genesis, and both companies presented a presale for the collection. Not to mention, enthusiasts got a chance to get the collection without the need for an RTFKT non-fungible token (NFT).
Nike X RTFKT Dunk Genesis Sneakers
Recently, Nike and RTFKT revealed that they are launching their new collection, and enthusiasts can have it through a presale. The collection has two exclusive editions of sneakers, the Nike x RTFKT Dunk Ghost Edition and the Dunk VOID Edition.
Furthermore, the pieces are worth $222. In addition to that, Nike and RTFKT have made T-shirts similar to the sneakers. These T-shirts include both the logos of the partnering companies and a quote that says, ‘Oops, You Stepped Into the Future.”
The presale is now live on their official website for pre-order. Apart from that, both companies tweeted about the sale from their official X accounts, mentioning the details along with the official website to access the collection.
Dunk Genesis Sneakers Design and Options
The all-new Dunk Gnenesis Sneakers collection continues the futuristic design integration, just like RTKFT’s other collections. The design shows off a detachable “Vial Clip Tongue” and a “Modular Heel Shield” that allow customization. Also, owners will get a 3D file for the sneakers to further modify the shoes as per their requirements and preferences.
Additionally, the sneakers have an NFC chip, named the RTFKT World Merging chip. With the integration of the chip, users can link their physical shoes with digital assets and gain a related digital collectible.
The two collections from the new venture have revealed a tentative shipping date. Buyers will get the VOID Edition by July 31, 2024, and the Ghost Edition by August 31, 2024. What’s more, these sneakers integrate NFTs with blockchain technology, which can be used for minting. However, the blockchain that will be used has not been specified yet.
Notably, this is not the first collaboration between Nike and RTFKT. Both companies released the RTFKT x Nike Air Force 1 sneakers and the CryptoKicks sneakers in 2022, which became a success. Now, this new collection shows the unique sneaker partnership in the digital space.
