Adidas has entered into a collaborative agreement with the move-and-earn app STEPN. Together, they are launching an exclusive Genesis NFT sneakers collection, marking the start of a year-long collaboration. This initiative combines digital innovation with physical fitness, promoting a new phase in health tech, often referred to as FitTech.
The Genesis Collection, influenced by Adidas’s iconic running shoes, consists of 1,000 unique NFTs. Created on the Solana blockchain, these digital assets symbolize a blend of tradition and future-tech. Meanwhile, Adidas and STEPN are planning to enrich this series with more digital and physical products throughout the year.
A Commitment to Community and Innovation by STEPN
STEPN’s rise to fame is largely due to its vast global community. Currently, the platform boasts over 5 million registered users worldwide. Additionally, the company recently distributed $30 million in tokens to its users, showcasing a strong commitment to its community-driven approach. Furthermore, STEPN’s various collaborations across music, sports, and animation sectors strengthen its market position.
Bridging Digital and Physical Worlds
The CEO of STEPN, Shiti Manghani, emphasized the dual benefits of this partnership. He explained that the alliance between physical activity and digital rewards creates a “phygital” experience, which is enhancing the lifestyle rewards landscape. This combination allows users to engage in physical activities while earning digital rewards, seamlessly integrating two aspects of modern life.
The exclusive NFTs from the Genesis Collection are set at 10,000 GMT each and are available through STEPN’s affiliate NFT marketplace, MOOAR. To ensure equitable distribution, the sale will occur in two stages. Initially, 200 NFTs will be reserved for the platform’s most devoted participants, including previous holders of ‘ALTS by Adidas’ NFTs. Subsequently, creators will be offering the remaining 790 NFTs through a public raffle, running from April 18 to April 21, with daily draws.
Overall, this collaboration shows how the physical and digital worlds are coming together and opens up possibilities in the move-to-earn and digital collectibles arena. As STEPN and Adidas continue to explore this partnership, the potential for new advancements seems boundless, promising exciting developments for enthusiasts of both fitness and technology.
