Farcana has secured $10 million in seed funding. The science-fiction team-based hero shooter game has marked a huge jump in the development process of the game. The team is preparing for the beta launch of their game soon after they cracked a deal with a few big names in the Web3 space.
Farcana Funding Round
The sci-fi hero shooter game Farcana is currently in its early stages of development and has secured $10 million in seed funding. Furthermore, the renowned firms that invested in the game are Animoca Brands, Polygon Ventures, Fenbushi Capital, Merit Circle, and more. In addition to that, this investment will lead to the development of the game’s third-person multiplayer shooter.
Notably, companies such as Rarestone Capital, MMPro Trust, Unpopular Ventures, Kapo Capital, Emchain, Hasu Capotal, and Dravus Investment were also present. These companies also participated in the funding round.
Clarence Zhou, the investment director of Fenbushi Capital, shared his excitement about the venture. Additionally, the co-founder and chairman of Animoca Brands, Yat Siu, appreciated the impressive development of the game. He said, “Our strategic investment in Farcana is part of Animoca Brand’s vision to drive Web3 development in MENA.”
Farcana’s Inspiration behind the Game
The game has taken inspiration from other popular games, such as Blizzard’s Overwatch and Riot Games’ Valorant. However, it stands out with its blockchain gaming elements. Not to mention, each item in the game will exist as an NFT for the player. Also, in-game transactions will use $FAR tokens.
Subsequently, the game follows a plot where humans have moved to Mars and discovered a substance called Axelar. What’s more, this substance grants superpowers and the game thus includes matches for the powers.
The Farcana team is based in the MENA region and Carlos “Ocelote” Rodriguez has advised them. Moreover, the company earlier partnered with Dubai’s Economy and Tourism Department for a Farcana pre-alpha gameplay test.
Now, the company is prepared to introduce new blockchain features where the top 10% of the players can win exciting rewards. Besides, the game will operate under a free-to-play model and will use the Ethereum scaling network Polygon for its “Mars Enigma Vault” NFTs. Lastly, enthusiasts are waiting, as they can get free minting of NFTs on December 19.
